Sounds of Tea: an intimate, embodied meditation
Someone said that music is the silence between the notes.
We amplify the silence between the sounds (using microphones and silent disco headphones) to help us slow down and find the stillness within. As the sunsets, we practice Sitting with Tea - an exercise in welcoming the small, the subtle, the slow, the quiet, the unnoticed. We attend to the Sounds of Tea (clinking of cups, boiling of water, pouring of tea, etc.) and invite them to guide us from the flat everyday world to the amplified reality hidden between the sounds of every moment.
Life unfolds continuously and each moment is a golden opportunity to practice mindfulness and embodied presence. It is up to us to cultivate the subtlety of perception and allow and welcome truth and beauty in our lives.
This experience will be led by being:sound (Joro Boro and Mary Keena Frisbee. The Tea we will be working with in the ceremony was harvested during Mary's time at a family run tea farm in Nepal this past March: Volunteer in Nepal - Deepak Kulung
